Shagreen is traditionally made from the richly textured skin of stingrays. It was popularized in Japan where it was used to wrap the handles of samurai swords, and in the centuries since it has adorned only the most luxurious home accents. Our cruelty free version of this material elevates the easy lines of the Maddox side tables. We include three tables in the set that slightly nest under each other. The half-moon bases are in black metal and a choice of cream or black is offered for the tabletops.
